This document provides a list of features and supported generations of hardware and also a list of validated equipment. Since whenever possible we try to use standard protocals such as RedFish, IPMI and others, it is very likely that additional equipment is already be fully supported even if not listed. MetalSoft also has a streamlined process for adding new drivers for new equipment and we are adding new equipment and software versions every day. Consult with the MetalSoft team if your equipment is not on the list or a feature is required and not currently supported. We may be able to add your equipment not on the list relatively quickly.
MetalSoft supports a wide array of servers. We have tested a range of equipment but most other brands and server models should also be supported at least partially.
Both iDRAC 9 and iDRAC 8 servers are supported for both Intel and AMD.

- iDRAC Enterprise (or better) license is required
- The default deployment mechanism used is Virtual Media based for all Dell Servers with the exception of 12G servers for which only the PXE mechanism is supported. Note that the PXE mechanism is deprecated and may be
removed in a later version of our software.
- iDRAC 8 minimum supported version 2.75.75.75.
- iDRAC 9 minimum supported version 5.0.0.0.
- The Serial Com port option is required for NICs that do not support SwitchConnectionView.
- Dell S1x0 series RAID controller are not supported.

- ILO5 and NVME drives directly connected to the backplane are not supported (they are not seen as disks by MetalSoft but they can still be used by the OSs)
